This is a stunning southeastern US state which boasts beaches, mountains, and farmlands. One major reason people are attracted to Georgia is the climate and the fact that it experiences all four seasons.

Picturesque small towns are peppered all over the state, the countryside is wonderful, and white sand beaches are something of heaven. Luckily, the state has an economy to match.

It is a reasonably affordable place to live in the US and offers a variety of experiences for its citizens. Georgians take their sports seriously and several championships and tournaments take place year-round.

Let’s have a look at the best places to live in GA:

Alpharetta

One of the up-and-coming cities of the state, Alpharetta is one of the best places in Georgia to live. It is a small town with a population of 66,000 and is a close-knit community.

Alpharetta is an awesome place for families to settle as the crime rate is low and education here is of a high standard. The public schools are highly rated so you do not need to spend extra bucks on private institutes. Four of Alpharetta’s public schools rank highest in the state of Georgia.

Ever since the government decided to employ a fiber-optic internet, the city has seen explosive growth in the tech center and it has now become the hub of technology in Georgia. Today, there are more than 600 tech companies in the city. The job market is thriving, and Alpharetta continues to add to the number of jobs available.

Being technology-centered has benefitted Alpharetta, it has made the city affluent and the median household income is $378,000.

Also, a great place for remote workers to live. The key prerequisite for remote working is good internet. The fiber-optic cables coupled with speeds up to 5000 Mbps (provided by AT&T) more than fulfill this requirement. Additionally, places like Starbucks, Alpharetta Public Library, and Pop’s Coffee offer free wifi.

There are lots of fun things to do in Alpharetta, the nightlife is buzzing. There are bars, breweries, sports bars, pubs, lounges, late-night restaurants, and live music.

One notable development in Alpharetta is Avalon. It is a multi-purpose project. It features a shopping center, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and hotels. There are also outdoor movies at night and yoga in the mornings.

Atlanta

Home to the huge Georgia Aquarium, CNN, the world of Coca Cola, and the capital of the state- Atlanta is on our list of the best places to live in Georgia for young adults.

This is a resilient and strong city; a Phoenix. It was rebuilt from the ashes when it was burnt to the ground in the civil war. And as a testament to the strength of the city, the Phoenix is the symbol of the city.

Today, Atlanta stands proudly as one of the most diverse cities in the country. It has a burgeoning job market, and 16 Fortune 500 companies call Atlanta their home. The Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport allows citizens to travel anywhere in the world without having to go to another city.

The cost of living in Atlanta is reasonable. The housing is affordable as compared to other cities. Moving here would not have you feeling out of place for you would witness the world-renowned southern hospitality. The people here are genuinely nice and welcoming.

Atlanta gives plenty of entertainment options. Trendy midtown features many cocktail bars, breweries, bowling alleys, whiskey bars, and live music. A famous music festival in Atlanta is TomorrowWorld, and people from near and far come to attend.

The people of Atlanta are big on sports, be it basketball, baseball, or football. Even if you aren’t a sports person, the liveliness will soon turn you into a Falcon or Hawks fan.

Living in Atlanta means nature is just a stone’s throw away. There is rafting, hiking, biking, trekking, and much more.

Good news for remote workers: Atlanta ranks as the most remote work-friendly city. This is because of high internet speeds (up to 5000 Mbps by AT&T), availability of working spaces, and the overall healthy atmosphere of the city.

John’s Creek

John’s Creek has a population of around 80,000 and is the tenth-largest city in the state. With many things to do and decent neighborhoods, John’s Creek is one of the best places to live in Georgia.

While living in John’s Creek may not be as cheap as in other cities, the price comes with many benefits. This city is well-maintained and roads well-kept. It is not one of those cities where driving around is a menace.

If you manage to avoid the rush hour, cruising the city roads is a delight in itself. As opposed to depending on the county, John’s Creek has its fire and police departments that are quick to service.

John’s Creek is a good place for families as it has excellent schools. There are three schools within the city limits and one just a little way off. And all of them rank high! Should you choose to move here, the education of your kids will be in safe hands.

Another reason why it is great for families is that the crime rate is much lower than in the rest of Georgia. The likelihood of property crime is 1 in 205 in John’s Creek as compared to 1 in 50 in the rest of Georgia. Pretty safe, we reckon.

The city is new, so there is no traditional “downtown” as such. However, there is still a city center with many entertainment, shopping, and dining options. There are over a hundred restaurants serving foods ranging from Mexican to Thai cuisines. Newton Park has an amphitheater where there are regular shows and events.

For those who love their outdoor spaces, John’s Creek has over 200 acres of open spaces in the form of parks such as Newton Park, Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center, and Jones Bridge Trail. The Chattahoochee can also be accessed from various points in the city where you can opt for some water sports.

Wrap Up

With mild winters, top-rated schools, a strong economy, and a low cost of living, Georgia has been enticing more and more people to come live in the Peach State.
